Take Advantage of Renewable Energy Empowerment Program – Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO) Charges Osun State Youth

Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO), a strong advocate for youth empowerment, has urged young people across Osun State to take advantage of the National Lottery Trust Fund’s (NLTF) renewable energy initiative, aimed at equipping youth with valuable skills in solar panel production and renewable energy solutions.

This program, launched in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power, seeks to provide skills training in the production of 1KVA solar panels, especially to vulnerable and rural youth. The training will enable young participants to create energy solutions that support small businesses such as phone charging centers, barber shops, and agricultural product preservation.

“In Osun State, we have a unique opportunity to empower our youth, especially those in underserved areas, by giving them the tools to thrive in the renewable energy sector,” Oluwatosin said. “This program is a direct response to the vision set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve employment and electricity access, and I encourage every young person in the state to seize this chance.”

Oluwatosin emphasized that the Youth Parliament he is championing will play a pivotal role in spreading awareness about this initiative, ensuring that young people from across the state are well-informed and can take full advantage of the training opportunities available.

“This initiative is not just about improving electricity access; it’s about economic empowerment. By learning these skills, our youth can become self-employed, build businesses, and contribute to the growth of their communities,” Oluwatosin added. “I strongly encourage Osun State youth to embrace this program and be part of the renewable energy transformation.”

The NLTF’s program aligns with the Federal Government’s broader efforts to reduce the percentage of Nigerians without reliable electricity, currently at 42%, by promoting renewable solutions in rural areas. The initiative will help to build a new generation of entrepreneurs, contributing to both energy security and economic growth.

In line with her tradition of democratic transition of power from one regime to another over the years, Progressives e-Group (the number one online media group in Osun State) again organized elections to usher in a new set of executives for the group as Hon. Taoheed Ademola Omo Omi tenure is set for completion on October 31st, 2024.

The generally peaceful election which took place on Saturday – 5th October, 2024 was coordinated by Com. Aderinto Ibrahim led the Electoral Committee in accordance with the group’s constitution as entrenched in Chapter 4; to elect a new set of executives that will pilot the affairs of the group for the next two years.

After a keenly contested first and second ballots, Mr. Abiodun Collins eventually emerged as the newly elected Coordinator of Progressives e-Group with effective from November 1st, 2024 for the next two years.
